Everyone is being told to “get AI experience.” But how do you get it when you’re not on a team or at a company that’s using it? You build.
This year I was back in the job market after 20 years in product. Instead of spray and pray, I treated my search like a product and used AI to build my way through it: an interview prototype for a role I wanted, a 48-hour website rebuild for a small business, a mobile app now headed through App Store review, and an AI-powered system that ran the search itself. Together they became an AI portfolio that did the talking in interviews, and the search ended in an offer.
In this Town Hall, I’ll share the 15-minute story: what I built, what I learned shipping to real users, and why showing the work beat describing it. Then the floor is yours. Bring the skill you want to be hired for, and together we’ll figure out what you could build to prove it.

Heriberto “Eddie” Rodriguez is a product leader with 20 years of experience turning ideas into products people actually use, across mobile, marketplaces, real estate tech, and media. He is a Senior Product Manager at a career technology company and the founder of Product Spark Studio LLC, where he builds AI-powered products on his own time, including Prayer Table, a mobile app headed for public launch, and CareerOS, the system that ran his own job search. He believes the fastest way to learn a new skill is to ship something with it.
ProductCamp Atlanta is a collaborative, participant-organized professional unconference, focused on Product Management, Marketing and UX topics. What’s great is the variety of sessions that are offered by our attendees. You’ll have the option to select from several different sessions throughout the day. We need you to share your insights in a panel, workshop, or presentation.
