Ever spent more time explaining your product than getting feedback on it?
As an API Product Manager at Travelport, I faced this challenge with airline exchange APIs that return thousands of lines of JSON. Rather than wait for demo applications to catch up with product changes, I built lightweight, interactive visualizations directly on top of real API responses—first manually, then faster with AI.
What began as a simple experiment made complex workflows easier for customers and internal teams to understand, discuss, and improve.
In this interactive session, I’ll share the before-and-after, the feedback that shaped the experience, and a practical approach to prototyping around user decisions rather than technical details.
We’ll also explore where PMs can move faster with AI—and where human judgment, design, and engineering remain essential.
The goal? Spend less time explaining, more time learning, and get meaningful product feedback faster.
