Your Best AI Users May Be Your Least Profitable

ProductCamp 2026, Session Proposals

In SaaS, a power user was good news: they cost about the same to serve as everyone else, and they renewed. In AI, the customer who loves your product most can be the one burning the most model spend on a flat price.

Every AI feature runs three meters at once, what it costs you, what the customer uses, and what the customer thinks they are paying for, and most teams price on one and get hurt by another, usually because the architecture chose the meter before anyone held a pricing meeting.

In this town hall I’ll lay out the three meters, then we take products from the room and work out which customers you are really making money on, and what to do about the ones you are not.

Ameet Kulkarni is the founder of MRNA Inc, an Atlanta practice that helps B2B security and infrastructure software companies work out how their products make money: what they charge for, how they package it, and how they take it to market. He spent almost two decades in product management, most recently at Cisco, leading the product management team building software for its billion-dollar firewall line. He has led several monetization changes, including Identity Services Engine’s move from perpetual licenses to subscription, on a product with more than $350M in annual bookings. He is also building Elicana, an AI knowledge product, which keeps the cost side of AI pricing very real for him.

ProductCamp Atlanta is a collaborative, participant-organized professional unconference, focused on Product Management, Marketing and UX topics. What’s great is the variety of sessions that are offered by our attendees. You’ll have the option to select from several different sessions throughout the day. We need you to share your insights in a panel, workshop, or presentation.
